Wash them first (of course) so that you don't get a mixture of colors do to fading (not a problem for me) Some Days I have a waist of 42", then it will drop down to a 40", then it bounces up to 44" Water retention is causing me a problem. Feel well constructed, fabric is soft, waistband is secure but not uncomfortable. I've worn them both day to day and to the gym, and haven't had any issues with riding up or moose knuckles. As far as size... I'm very slim (28" waist) and ordered a size small- they're a smidge too big and have a little sagging at the bottom. While I'm hardly John Holmes, I'm endowed perfectly normally so I don't think that's the issue- the fit is just a little on the bigger side. Not an issue really, they still keep everything where I want it, but if you're dithering on a size I'd go for the smaller one.
