The landing mat is designed with soft padding for safety. Simply connect the garden hose and adjust water flow with the control valve. The smaller pool is equipped with overflow drain hole, so that water doesn't fill higher than 4.5 inches. The water capacity of the bigger pool is 8 inches. I had already seen other reviews mentioning that the pool loses air, but I assumed those were just rare cases. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happened to me. After only a few weeks of normal use, the pool started losing air and is now unusable. This is extremely frustrating and not what anyone would expect from a new product. A product like this should last much longer than a few weeks. Very disappointing quality.
