Review: 😊 - I am quite happy with the pencils. ( I not only use them to draw, but also to mark on cross stitch patterns. And then if I want to reuse the pattern, I just erase the marks & reuse the pattern!
Review: Very nice selection of PASTEL pencils. - I love them but let's call this what it is: A collection of eleven pastel pencils and one charcoal pencil. I'm not complaining though. The selection of colors is great. If you have experience working with pastel pencils and need these colors, buy them. If it's your first time with pastel pencils there's a slight learning curve (harder to sharpen and easier to break), so keep that in mind. I guess marketing them as "colored charcoal pencils" makes them stand out from the other products? It is misleading though.

**Q: Are these charcoal or hard pastel pencils, or a mix of materials?**
A: It seems like the darker and more muted colors have charcoal mixed in, but the lighter colors are pastel pencils.

**Q: Are these pencils smudgable?**
A: They are harder than traditional charcoal pencils and are resistant to finger smudging. The edges are able to be softened somewhat with a tortillion. They are nice for detail work.

**Q: Can I use workable fixatif with this medium?**
A: I would assume you would be able to, but most fixative sprays tend to lift charcoal

**Q: do they come with paper?**
A: No paper.
