I don't want to bother others as I practice.** A: The default is for the speakers to shut off when you plug in headphones, but there is a function key setting that can change it so the speakers can stay on when you plug into the headphone jacks. The option is useful if you want to plug into an amp or PA system and still have sound out of the piano speakers. **Q: does this model have midi in/out?** A: It DOES NOT have old style midi I/o which I thought would be easy to work around. It wasn’t. I finally bought a $100 device out of the UK to let me connect the FP30 to my Roland sound module (JV1010) which has old style midi connections. You’re fine if you’re going into a computer via USB but you are in trouble if sending a signal to anything with old midi connections. It is a great keyboard for the price. Good feel, sounds, and Roland quality. Just be aware of a need to add a device to connect an older midi module like mine **Q: The picture shows a sheet music holder, but it is not mentioned in the specs. They're there mostly for resonance, and don't even have dampers. They're too short to really have any tone. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing piano with great touch and sound *by on Reviewed in the United States February 22, 2017* I was looking for a digital piano under $1000 for playing classical music, and the most important factor for me were the key action and the touch. After trying FP-30, I just fell in love with it. The key action is really amazing. It feels similar to acoustic piano which I didn't expect at all with this price range. Sound is also stunning with headphones (FYI I'm using the noise-canceling ones). It creates very realistic sound and particularly the low keys give very deep and grand-like sound. But without headphones, the sound quality is not as good as when I use the headphones. It sounds a bit unclear and heavy, and the volume is weak. Also if you play fast or powerful music, you may hear some clunky plastic sound which I think is unavoidable for most digital pianos at this price range.
