I looked at the floor-to-ceiling stability polls as well but I would constantly have to move the pole since I can only step-off on my right foot so that was not a practical option. This adjustable grab bar was less expensive (however that was not a factor) and I could move it easily to the exact spot I needed to feel safe, and it is easily removed for others so that it is not in their way.
