This is a handmade, one of a kind, ornamental house for your garden! It could be used as a fairy house or a toad house. There are pretty window boxes made of red roses and fall leaves have softly landed on the roof, a dragon fly has stopped by for a visit. There are pretty delicate butterflies and if you look closely you will see a the fairy who lives there, the keeper of the garden. This toad house is not only pretty, whimsical and fun but it actually has a practical purpose. The coolness of the clay used in the throwing process will draw toads to the garden and they will burrow down inside the toad house to stay cool in the heat of the day. They are useful creatures because they keep unwanted pests out of your garden. The toad house was hand thrown on the potter's wheel and is made from white stoneware clay with the look and feel of fine porcelain. If you live in a climate with below zero temperatures you might want to bring it in for the winter. It is sturdy but the weight of the snow might cause it to be damaged. This is a one of a kind design that was hand thrown on the pottery wheel with careful attention to sculptured details by the artist Bonnie McPhail and it signed and dated on the inside of the piece.
