If the product states FLD4-01 it is a gallon. **Q: Has anyone tried this as a sealant for cast aluminum patio furniture?** A: I have not used it cast aluminum patio furniture. I used it on a metal tool box which had a lot of rust. I wanted to maintain the rust look with a stable finish. I put multiple coats on and was pleased with the outcome. It is very easy to use and appears to leave a durable finish. My dad showed me this back in the 80s, and I always keep a can in the garage. Works great for maintaining car/truck frames and keeping rust at bay. I typically wire brush the rusty area, apply a coat of Penetrol, let it dry overnight...... Then hit it with a bit of flat black spray paint then next day. Those small single use brushes from Harbor Freight work great to apply this stuff. I have never actually used it to thin paint, so I can't speak to that application.
