**Q: Is this really black? Im looking for white.**
A: The one I received was white but it mas many years ago.  I don not recall the description saying black.  I believe the description of the one I purchased said “white.”

**Q: Does this piece come with the foam floater pad?**
A: Yes it contains the foam pad.

**Q: Can the foam floater pad be purchased separately?**
A: I researched the very thing you're asking about. I could not find the styrofoam pad anywhere. I ended up having to purchase the whole item. I will continue searching for the pad only. Maybe someone else has succeeded in finding it.

**Q: What exactly is the purpose of this ?**
A: It causes surface water to be drawn into the skimmer. It floats to cause just a thin but voluminous flow of water over it pulling lots of surface debris. I stead of four inches of deeper water and little surface being pulled in.
