The stem from your sink drain pop up is 1 1/4". This trap comes with a reducing hut which will adapt from the 1 1/2" size of the trap to the 1 1/4" of the tail piece. So yes, it will work. FYI typical tailpiece for kitchen sink is 1 1/2" and bathroom sink is 1 1/4". Most homes have 1 1/2" pipes as rough in waste. **Q: Can this be used for bathtub drainline?** A: No. Bath tub drains are usually inaccessible so there would be no way to check for leaks. Thus you would need a sch 40 solvent weld P-trap.
