Doing so can result in STRIPPING out the thread when you attempt to remove the fastener. It is very strong! That would include small set screws as used on weapon scope mounts. For fasteners that are less than 1/4" use Permatex LOW STRENGTH type 222 PINK COLOR. you can find it here on Amazon at a ridiculously low price. You will be able to remove the fastener fairly easily without seizing and stripping the threads. Clean the fastener threads with acetone to remove all oil/grease from the threads and air dry. Apply a small amount to the threads and wipe off the excess with your fingers. The Loctite cures in the absence of air. Make sure you thoroughly wash your hands after using any Loctite product.
