I wear 5.5 in trainers and I ordered 5.5 in these - they were HUGE. I returned them as they had been previously used and I will re-order in the size 5. I'm very satisfied with these boots, and I have a very hard time finding shoes that fit well and are comfortable; plus I suffer from chronic plantar fasciitis. They are a wide fit with a good sized toe box. They are not the best for 100% waterproofness but I continue to buy for comfort. I do clean them with a reputable boot cleaner and reproofing product on a regular basis. However, my latest pair are Not waterproof at all. I have just done an hours pavement walk in the rain and my feet were absolutely soaking wet after about 40mins. I literally wrang my soaks out and poured the water out of the boots when I got home.
