I have a cloth dedicated to this procedure. One slight irritation is the finish of the handle and the lever on the lid (not straight), they don't seem to have been fitted very well and look like someone, unskilled, has been at them with a file (see photos). I guess you have to pay more money to get people to take pride in their work or, more likely, cut down on the bosses bonuses and pay your workers better. People who gave one star because the handle isn't real wood really just need to get over themselves. Review: Superb Stove Top Moka Pot - Really nice product with wood effect soft feel handle. Solid quality built item, fits together well and comes apart easy for cleaning. I got the large 6 cup version which gives 2 mugs of coffee if you have milk. I am using my pot on an electric stove top and it heats up quick enough on the 4 setting then dropped to 3 once the coffee starts coming up. Finally I turn off the stove once the pot gurgles for the first time and that seems to give me a full pot of gorgeous steaming roast. I noticed other reviews mentioned spare parts like an additional rubber seal being included but none was included with my order. I checked with the supplier and they have stopped that now but can supply spares if needed, which is good news. The inside of the lower pot has been improved. The cheaper one is the last batch before the improvement, so we lowered the price. The both of using in no problem. **Q: How do you make a mocha please** A: This isnt exactly a mocha maker but a moka pot. You can make Mocha (a chocolatey coffee mix drink). In which case, do look up how to make them. (Normally just brewing a smooth medium roast and adding a certain chocolate syrup addition as you pour it into a preheated glass. If you want to make a nice coffee, milk or black, with this moka pot. All you need to do is add heated water (80 / 90 degrees celsius) to the bottom chamber stopping just before the little valve inside, then add your grounds to the contained that sits inside the bottom component. (DO NOT PRESS OR COMPRESS YOUR GROUNDS) You want the grounds loosely poured into the correct area for them. Then fix the top component to the bottom and coffee holder by screwing the two (bottom and top) together with the coffee ground seat inside the bottom as instructed. Then place your moka pot on a stove, induction or gas will need to be known. Leave the lid off of it and watch for the coffee beginning to rise out of the fountain like pour inside. When the coffee begins to bubble out, you can remove the moka pot from the stove or turn it down lower on the gas or induction. Wait for a kind of sputtering noise or visual of bubbles pouring out of the funnel in place of coffee. When either thing begins happening, take your moka pot (carefully) over to your sink and cool the lower chamber with cold water, this will stop the boiling process inside that area and allow the pressure to release through the funnel. Think we should only be using stainless....300ml makes a schooner size cup coffee. So for me perfect size. I immediately purchased replacement seals. A couple of sharp edges inside and on the top rim but not enough to put me off using it. Wooden handle is great for stove brewing as it doesn't attract heat but overall nothing special, its just a larger version of your usual Italian Moka maker.Comes with spare gasket so that's something good too.EDIT..... This model has not rusted since purchase, there is a little discolouration underneath reservoir but that is baked on coffee spill, but inside no rust, it is stainless steel after all.Advice, when storing don't tighten the 2 halves together too much, just enough to grip so when storing it doesn't rattle, otherwise the gasket can get damaged and then start to leak steam.
