On a related note, my old BA II calculator lasted about 20 years. Note that this calculator takes the thin round batteries and it is not the easiest thing in the world to change the batteries. **Q: does this have a carrying case?** A: Not a carrying case, but it has a hard slip cover that goes on the front of the unit to protect the display area and the buttons. If so, the effective rate to enter for I/Y is (.05/12)x100... if it’s annual effective rate, I/Y=(1.05^(1/12)-1)x100.
