Review: Miracle for sore knees! - Got these for my husband to use because even 30 minutes of riding will make his knees stiff. Recently he injured his knee so now the stiff knees turns into pain even on short rides due to a small tear in his meniscus. I installed these tonight on the saddle and we went for a trail ride up the mountain. He rode for an hour and 15 minutes with no knee stiffness and no pain! I noticed that he did not even need to pause and take his foot out of the stirrup for relief - not even for a few seconds. These are worth gold and this was the best price that I could find. The only down side...they did not come with any allen wrenches (there are 3 different sizes on the stirrup) or instructions. However, they are pretty basic and we had allen wrenches in the tool box that worked. They are little heavier than the regular endurance stirrups due to the extra metal in the swivel mechanism. Review: Crucial Defective Stirrup Part - One of the these stirrups came apart just as I was mounting. It was definitely defective and gave way after only a few rides. As the picture will show, both the bolt and receiver end for the bolt had sheared threads. This was an unseen hazard, presenting itself in an accident waiting to happen that could have potentially happened in any riding situation with certain injury. Of course this happened after the 30 day return period. However, I would like for Tough 1 to refund my money for the defective product that was not caught by your quality control checks. I have a bad knee, and these stirrups make it possible for me to ride without pain. **Q: How difficult are they to install? How much will they impact the length of the stirrup?** A: Easy to install. They attach like regular stirrups, just remove your old ones and feed the leather through the new ones and secure. They added 1 1/2 inches length to mine. **Q: How wide is the footbed?** A: Very wide. The position it puts your foot is good but it is bulky and has some sharp corners.
