It pretty much lives on my stove, so when I get up in the morning it’s ready and waiting to make my eggs and my one pancake. Yeah, one pancake. This is the perfect size for that, and honestly for almost anything that benefits from this size and needs a smooth, glass-like surface so nothing sticks. The nonstick on this is way better than the older pans I’ve had that eventually peel. It’s basically become my dedicated egg pan. The size is great when you’re cooking for one, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The shape helps too. The curved sides and lip, plus the balanced handle, make it really easy to flip my eggs and pancakes. I’m not sure what the surface on the bottom is called, but it’s that dark, expensive-looking kind (I think it’s hard-anodized aluminum). And while it’s built really well and cooks great, it’s not heavy, which makes it even nicer to use.

**Q: how to measure a frying pan?**
A: This pan is 8" edge to edge at the top not counting the 1/4-inch lip, and just under 7" in the flat-bottom cooking area. I believe most stated measurements are for the top of the pan, not for the cooking area.

**Q: Is this pfoa free?**
A: Yes, it is PFOA free.  PFOA was phased out in all products in the US in 2015.  Also, the Stockhom Convention on persistent organic pollutants banned PFOA in July 2020.  There are 184 countries that agreed to the ban: China, US, EU, India, Canada, pretty much any place you would get a pan from.

A: Yes

**Q: what is the inside bottom cooking area width**
A: The sides of the skillet are slopped so the bottom is a little smaller.  I would guess the cooking area of a 8" skillet is about 7".  It is a great skillet.  I suggest you buy it with a lid -- it becomes more versatile.  I already had a 8" lid so bought a skillet without a lid.
