Review: Hungry Caterpillar pop up - Very cute, just as described, grandson will love it Review: Not scary! - I was concerned that the sudden opening of the box would scare my 10 month old granddaughter but she reached out for it right away and started chewing on the lid. She would not give it up even after being presented with other toys - not sure what the attraction was butit could be the tune or the little worm or perhaps the lid was soothing to her gums! No matter, in my opinion a very good choice and I am glad I purchased it for her. ## Features - 5 x 5 x 7 inches (closed) - Plays "Pop Goes the Weasel" - Ages 6 months+ - Based on the bestseller by Eric Carle "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" - Features illustrations from Eric Carl's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar; Pops up as you play, pop goes the weasel; 5.5" colorful jack in the box ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B003KN277S | | Age Range Description | Kid | | Brand | KIDS PREFERRED | | Character | The Very Hungry Caterpillar | | Colour | Multicolor | | Country of Origin | USA | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,746 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00081787967090 | | Is Assembly Required | No | | Item Dimensions | 14 x 14 x 14 Centimeters | | Item Weight | 454 g | | Manufacturer | Kids Preferred | | Manufacturer Part Number | HC96709 | | Material | Plush | | Model Number | 96709 | | Operation Mode | Manual | | Power Source | manual winding | | Size | 5 x 5 x 7 inches | | UPC | 081787967090 | ## Images ![World of Eric Carle, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Jack in the Box - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81EEt44DUpL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Why was this discontinued? I worry about this brand vs. Schylling** A: In our opinion as a retailer, Kids Preferred makes high quality items. We have never had a complaint about any Jack in the Box this company makes or any other item. **Q: Does it pop at random intervals?** A: No, it is a classic jack in the box. It pops up at the end of the song. Fun because your toddler can anticipate the pop based on the end of the song **Q: Is it suitable to play with an infant?** A: Always. As long as playing is age, timing and place appropriate. **Q: Types shown look different. One has dark green and light green body and one has two different shades of light green for the body. Are they the same?** A: Thank you for your enquiry. Yes they are the same, it may be that the lighting makes the pictures look a little different but they are all light & dark green. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hungry Caterpillar pop up *by S***E on 26 April 2025* Very cute, just as described, grandson will love it ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not scary! *by E***. on 26 December 2012* I was concerned that the sudden opening of the box would scare my 10 month old granddaughter but she reached out for it right away and started chewing on the lid.
