I've had long handled staplers where the guide stays locked and where it slides around a bit which can be quite annoying..** A: the guide does not lock into place. and if you're making booklets be certain to use tape, and a lot of it, to keep the guide in place. it is the only flaw I've found with this stapler and i've used one for 12 years now. **Q: How do you open the stapler to load more staples? I have this model and cannot figure it out! Help, please.** A: Holding the stapler with opening to the right, lift black handle and fold backward. At the right end of the mechanism is a black plastic end cap. Pull the black cap out to the right (horizontally) and place staples in the empty carriage at the left. **Q: Can it handle a light cardstock and a few pages?** A: I use it to make planners, so a sheet of cardstock and about 15 to 18 sheets of paper (24#) is what I've been stapling. **Q: where is this stapler made?
