Has nice reach and screw stroke. I used it for Mini Cooper S heads with four valve per cylinder and it worked great. Has a nice set of of valve spring cap sizes to choose from. **Q: Will it work on civic 2001 head?** A: Without having a Civic head to compare, I am not sure. However, the maximum opening of the C-Clamp is 9.4" without a spring collar adaptor. so if you can get the clamp straddling the head and fit the spring collar adaptor you should be good to go. This is a very light duty item, and you will need to break the valve keepers loose from the retainer. You can do that by using a socket that is the same diameter as the spring retainer and lightly tap with a hammer until it breaks free (you will hear the difference). Now if you buy this and it does not fit, there is still hope if you have a drill press and someone to help hold the head steady Find a deep well socket the same diameter as the valve you want to remove. install the threaded rod into your drill chuck, and add the adaptor that fits the valve spring retainer. Adjust the height of the drill press table so that you can set the valve head on the socket and then use the drill press as a press to remove the valve keepers and retainer/spring. You will definitely need 4 hands to do this though.
