**Q: Are these large flakes? My discus doesn't care for smaller flakes.**
A: Yes. They tend to the larger size but you do get some smaller flakes, kinda like crumbs.  It's a good flake.  I've been using them for years.

**Q: Can I feed this fish food to my African cichlids**
A: Yes absolutely. This is a very good flake and a great way to vary the feeding. My discus like these flakes and discus are notorious for being finicky. And these flakes are a nice alternative. Your Africans will like these flakes.

**Q: which is the approximate time of expiry?**
A: I also don't know how long it's storage time is. I had always used Tetra flakes because my fish would never really go for other brands. I guess I could have starved them into it. Claims have been made that Tetra adds sugar or something to hook the fish (Blah Blah Blah). Originally tried this Cobalt food when a smaller can was sent to me with several pretty expensive German Discus I ordered via Internet from a Discus Expert.  Surprisingly all my fish really went for it and the big benefit is that it has Probiotics in it to help health and digestion.  Now I use the smaller can and refill it from the Big cans I buy. I keep the big can stored in the closet and the small one near the tank. Don't know if this helps you any, but having the food available from Amazon is great because local stores are often out of products if they carry them at all.Usually they carry Tetra and some brand that makes them money.

**Q: Is this one 2 pound container or two 1 pound containers?**
A: I received one 2 pound container. Like a bucket.

So these flakes are completely different looking and smelling than other brands. I thought my four finicky discus might not like it, but once my greedy male starting eating it, they all joined in and now they all go for it without hesitation and will eat all they can get of it. I like that these flakes are very large. Now for sure they will start to break up as it gets used up and eventually only crumbs are left that tiny fish can eat, but one could say that about most flake foods, its the nature of the food itself. If the flakes didn't break, they'd probably be too hard for them to eat. I also like that it has probiotics the fish need for healthy digestion.
