Attachment hardware is plastic on the supports and a two screw, curved metal strip to clip the front tie-downs and clips to. Installation is relatively easy with two people. The bimini feels flimsy until you get it attached. Once attached it is solid and should withstand normal winds and use. Opening and closing the top is easy. The protective cover has a large- toothed, plastic zipper that makes for easy open and close and no corrosion. My 20' boat, that we've had for 13 years, came with a small bimini of similar quality that covers the two cockpit seats. We finally got smart and purchased a new bimini to cover the back half of the boat to keep us out of the sun.
