Review: Versatile, Durable, Removable, Reusable & Affordable -- We all have cords...these Velcro Cord Ties make managing them easier - This is a great product to have. Unless you have sworn off all electricity and telecommunications, you most likely have to deal with cords/cables. Nothing is more annoying than when they are messy, and this can in some cases present a tripping hazard. Rubber bands, wire ties, traditional zip ties, strong, and tape can all be used for this purpose, but they all have their downsides (some of which are significant.) Here, we have a cord/cable tie that uses a removable & reusable hook-and-loop fabric fastener produced by the Velcro brand, a name synonymous with hook-and-loop fasteners. Vastly different from the other options listed above, it is easy to apply, easy to remove, does not cause damage to cords/cables, does not rapidly degrade with age, can easily be cut (or combined) to change the size for the User's needs, and works well even when being used frequently. You have likely seen similar products at hardware stores, but generally the quantity per-package is low, and the price high. That limits practicality if you have a lot of cords. But here you can get 100 Velcro ties for about 6 bucks. Made with both economy & performance in mind, these wraps are lighter duty than some other Velcro products offered, and are only available in a black color. They measure 8 inches long and 1/2 inch wide, so they work well with most standard-sized cords (for larger cords, just connect two or more through the loops to form a single giant cord tie.) Each individual tie has a hole punched into one end, which allows the user to loop & tighten the tie to a cord/device so that the tie does not fall off of the cord when completely unstrapped/opened up. What I wanted was a versatile, durable, removable, reusable, and affordable cord/cable tie...these fit those needs perfectly. They are well made, reasonably strong, and the Velcro fastener used is very good quality considering the price. While these are lighter duty than most of the retail packages of Velcro Cord Ties are, these work perfectly for my general home-use needs and they cost about 1/10th the price. So I highly recommend these Velcro cord/cable ties!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the strap have a hole on one end, so the strap can thread through itself? So when not in use it stays attached to the cable.**
A: The strap has a pill-shaped hole in one end and then you can thread the other end through.  I would recommend utilizing the hook (side that sticks to cloth) and wrap it that way so your straps don't get stuck to any unwanted areas.  You can loop it once and attach it to a cable, but depending on how tight you do this it can still slide up and down.

**Q: Can they be used outside to secure bird netting to my wrought iron gate?  Trying to keep the rabbit out of my yard. So will the ties hold up outside?**
A: Yes! I use them outside and have for years to secure several objects to our iron deck railing. They safely and attractively secure a tall stand holding my hummingbird feeder and hanging baskets. Wind has not toppled anything yet. Love that I can leave them chained together to get longer lengths for whatever I need.  Strong and attractive.

**Q: Can I use it as Bike ties for tires? I want to tie my Bike to my car bike stand, so that it does not move when I'm driving.**
A: It's a better idea to use a strong bungee cord or two to secure a bike to a car rack and to keep the front tire from bouncing around.  There's an excellent set here, on AMAZON.COM that would be an excellent choice.  Low price and Prime eligible, the ASIN # B009ONI2B8.  If I weren't so happy with the cables I have, I would order this set with various lengths of extra strong bungee cords.  Good luck.

**Q: would these work for running speaker wire along a wall to the receiver?**
A: Only as far as allowing you to bundle several wires together as they lay on the floor against the wall. You'd probably want to get some molded plastic "raceway" and attach that to the wall, then run the wires in that. Most are easily paintable to match the wall and would have self-stick adhesive to secure them to the wall. You could screw them down but be careful the screw heads don't chafe the wiring inside the raceway. You can also get some flat-ish ones you can run across a doorjam. Almost anything should handle speaker wires, and you can even get flat 'wire-tape' that you can stick to the wall and paint over for an almost invisible wire.
