## Description

The shock arrestors are designed to absorb pressure surges within water or other fluids where they are suddenly stopped or forced into other directions by fast closing valves. The shock arrestor has been specifically designed for hydraulic hammer arresting applications. The Shock Arrestor has a high grade butyl diaphragm which is sealed within the vessel creating a barrier between fluid and a compressible air chamber. The shock arrestor is best used at the point of shock and should be installed close to the valve or piping where the shock originates from.

**Q: can I connect the G 1/2" connector to one end of this compression fit end?  just want to make sure the thread are the same**
A: you can't connect a 1/2" connection straight to the bottom of the tank, you have to first connect the gold T connection that comes with it and them you can connect a 15mm pipe on both ends to it

The unit must be pressurised to 3.5 bar to work correctly. There is a Schrader valve (same as a car tyre valve) on top of the unit to allow it to be re-pressurised, which should be done every 6 months. Mine came with a pressure of just over 2 bar so needed pumping up before use. Almost missed this information as it is written on top in text that isn't very legible.However, it was easy to fit, and once installed has worked perfectly; no hint of any pipe knocking. Very pleased with it.
