The story is about a man named Griffin who designs postcards and lives in the UK who one day receives a note from Sabine who purports to have been searching for him for years. One can assume she has somewhat of a crush on him and his artistry. But as the story goes on, you realize that the book is about so much more. It is about long distance correspendence. Secret love and lust. Griffin who at first is incredulous at the prospect that someone from so far away admires him and has been waiting for him, finally after many letter up and back falls hard for Sabine and can't get her out of his mind. The book concludes with Griffin saying that he can't take it anymore and must go away so as not to continue to be in correspendance with Sabine. I wanted a copy for myself but living on an island and Internet was fairly new, it was unheard of to order online and my local bookstore didn't order books either. What was there, was there. This book is a treasure and I'm so happy to reread it after so many years. I love the interactive reading and how the story progresses.
