It's sturdy and went together easily enough, but the paint job is very poor...very light in some places and heavy/thick in other places. Also the canvas had a pretty strong smell at first (the wood pieces did not) so I let it air out quite a bit. As others have stated, do be careful of the dimensions and the fact that the pockets are all the same height as the front one so you're not getting more depth to put the books in as I had originally expected on some of the rows.
