I got a 1/4"-3/16 quick connect reducer to me it work. I bought mine many years ago and that pump actually came with 5/16od tube. So for my case I got a 5/16-1/4" reducer for every day use so I can easily throw on 1/4" per hose. And in my toolbox I keep a 36" 3/16" hose with a 1/4"-3/16 reducer attached to it. These hoses i received were metric. **Q: Will this work to remove air? I need a hand pump that will remove air from an air splint, will this work for that?** A: it would depend on the degree to which the air needs to be removed. It would be ok for suctioning out up to a point. That point would be limited by your strength and the level of vacuum needed. It isn't going to create a vacuum like an air compressor for example could. One other thing you should be aware of is on mine, the plunger is extraordinarily hard to move. The O rings seem to be just a bit too large. **Q: Does the tube Fit over a brake bleeder screw?
