Also I make sure my whole milk and heavy cream are REALLY COLD like I don't make it the day I buy milk from store so all this can make or break ur Ice cream.... another thing I like to do to make creamier ice cream is use half and half instead of whole milk. I have never had a problem with the freezer part swelling nor the paddle not setting in correctly and don't have a problem with the lid. we wash and dry the freezer bowl and put it in a zip lock bag and stick it in the freezer for the next time.
