However, there is a major problem with all of my coffee presses: coffee gets cold very soon. I love it when my coffee is hot and tasty.I did some research and found this Fortluxe coffee press by VODIY. They addressed that big issue in a clever way. Its special lid blocks the air inside the carafe which keeps your coffee hot and nice. You just press the little handle while pouring. Also, that little handle avoids any hot coffee spills by giving you more control over the volume of the liquid.Furthermore, the removable carafe is an excellent idea. Because it makes cleaning much easier.The thickness of the carafe is another important factor. If the glass is not thick enough to withstand minor bumps, it will crack and you might burn yourself with hot liquid. Obviously, Fortluxe has the thickest glass I have ever seen in any coffee presses.In addition, the quality of the filter is very important. The better the quality the less coffee grounds you will have in your cup. BUT it has a major design flaw .... The glass portion is not tempered glass and fails with cracks with every pot .... And I have bought and tested three of them. On the first and second pot, I put in the coffee, pored in the hot water secured the top, and after about a minute, very slowly lowered the plunger ... No forceful pressure used. After the third pot of coffee, long curving cracks in the glass appeared. I returned them. I figured then that the glass might not be tempered, so I would use great care in warming the glass, poring a little hot water at a time, swirling it around, then add a bit more. After 6 uses, now I have multiple short vertical cracks developing. Note that each and every time, I have hand washed these pots and hand dried, no dropping and no misuse. I have come to the opinion that the glass itself is just flawed. A manufacturing defect for this use. So with great regret, I am returning this pot too. I will have to search for another.
