If left out in the environment, the harsh effects of ultraviolet in sunlight would probably cause the stitching to deteriorate. WKH **Q: Do you knw the thread weight on the sewn patches that form the loops?** A: No but I did use them to tie down a sportster on a trailer and had no problem **Q: Could these be used as an extension for excersize cable machine handles?** A: These straps are certainly strong enough to use for exercise extensions.
