It is often sucking in too much air and blows so many bubbles it frightens my fish.** A: I cut the skimmer media in half and sandwiched some filter floss the tweet the two half’s. I haven’t had micro bubbles since. Perhaps it just slowed the flow similar to closing the output slide. I do know it that cleans the water a bit more this way as an added benefit. **Q: Can the suction cups be replaced?** A: I don’t see that they can. You can figure out a work around with plasti-molded magents though. Worked just fine on my older skimmer. **Q: is this unit self adjust for different water level?** A: About an inch of play really. The plastic top that slides in the top of the unit is about 2 and1/2 inches long, so it can handle an inch fluctuation either way. This didn’t work for me since my sump water level raises about 5 inches when I turn off my return pump for feeding.
