I installed a battery isolators and had to run a power line to a battery in the trunk. This will protect my electrical system. Review: terminals heated up and plastic melted - Installed this in a camper van to protect a power inverter. Tightened screws very well, and verified tightness, however after running the inverter for a couple of hours I noticed that the fuse holder terminals had gotten hot and had caused the plastic to melt. this poses a fire risk! It seems to me that the bolt that pushes the stranded wire (1 gage in my case) in is designed too small in order to enable a tight enough fit that would minimize ohms resistance and thus heat. Do not use this product. it is a safety risk! Edit: I found out that the problem with heat is caused by the fuse. A special kind of fuse is needed for installation inside the engine compartment: It is called "Ignition protected".
