I was refinishing my wood floors, and the riser could not be re-used, so this veneer seemed appropriate. We stuck it onto the plywood underneath, and stained and finished it with Minwax Classic Gray, like we used on the rest of my red oak flooring, and it is beautiful! It worked perfectly. OK, so it can’t be sanded and refinished in the future, but I’ll just purchase more veneer if I need it :). It will probably stick. But I'm sure even if you seaL it, it will bubble up because of moisture. You could try 1/8 plywood sealed. **Q: How to remove to start over?** A: Once this is applied, I don’t believe there is any way to remove it. The adhesive on the back makes permanent and is super strong. I’ve never tried this, but possibly using a clothes iron to heat the veneer softening the adhesive on the back. Although you’ll probably destroy the veneer. You might try You Tube **Q: These were working great for few weeks. Now humid &wrinkled. Are they trash now?** A: I used mine in the bathroom over some cabinets excetera. When I polyurethane with a water-based polyurethane, it bubbled up, but then settled back down I think it does fluctuate quite a bit with the humidity in terms of this but when the polyurethane dried, it was less noticeable. I was ready to tear it off.
