The cover would not come down on the sides of your A/C like mine. However, with the bungee cords, should hold it in place with enough cover to prevent falling debris from getting inside unit. Worst case scenario is you would have to return the item. Hope that helps. **Q: need a larger cover, where do i get this?** A: The bigger size fits my 4 ton compressor perfect. **Q: Will it cover a trane air conditioner?** A: I can tell you my Goodman condensers measure 28” square and 36” on the diagonal measure. The product/cover measures 36” square and 45” on the diagonal measurement. My circular fins/opening on top of the A/C measures 24 inches across. Where the air exhausts. Goodman doesn’t make their units with a protective cover that will vent air and stop leaves and debris from getting in to the unit. 😔 So with that said the cover extends a minimum of at least 5 inches past the circular opening for good coverage on my units. I would say if your unit measures more then about 36 inches on the square and 44 on the diagonal with a fan/air opening on the top of the unit more then about 32 inches, the cover may not work as well as mine. Hope that helps, I believe I posted pictures on this site of my covers on the units showing how they cover and stop debris from going in the units. **Q: how wide is the mesh? Looking for 1/4 to 1/2 inch holes to minimize motor damaging back pressure.** A: About 1/8 of an inch, more or less. But haven’t noticed and motor problems, the air seems to flow through fine.
