The manual claims 15 hours, and I don't know if that's accurate, but 15 hours and you'll be done anyway. Just go plug it into your phone charger. I only have one worry about the lithium battery, and that is that if it goes bad, is the detector disposable? After I use it more and if I find any drawbacks this summer, I may update the review. I helped her set up her settings and showed her how to use the detector and let her go. She took 10 steps and said she found something... not even 30 seconds in she found a silver dime. I really wish I hadn't got her this detector! This thing works amazing. It sounds great, especially with the wireless headphones, and the tones are very clear making it easy to predict your targets. The only improvement I'd like to see is if it were fully waterproof.
