A: No you have to connect it to your router, the router is the DHCP and the switch is the extension, you router is capable of 255 IP address but you only have a few ports on your router so the switch will allow for more ports

**Q: Is there a way to disable the watchdog feature? It's breaking a lot of things**
A: You can’t disable the watchdog function by yourself, because it is written in flash ROM.
