The AC adapters on these old modems are notorious for failing, so I took a chance on replacing the AC adapter only and it worked! That said, three months later my mom's modem went on the fritz again. This time I replaced the entire set (modem and AC adapter) with a different brand. Therefore, I don't know if this adapter or the modem that failed this time.
