**Q: wich watt should i pick for stax energizer from japan?**
A: Power consumption is listed in the specifications. Go to Stax's official website (stax DOT co DOT jp) and click on "イヤースピーカーのスタックスへようこそ" (which means, "Welcome to STAX Earspeaker". The link should be above another link that says, "Overseas Distributor"). Then, on the next page, click on the tab that says, "製品情報" (which means, "product information".). Click on your product and then Ctrl+F (or equivalent, to search on the page for specified text) for "消費電力" (which means, "power consumption"). Units should be in watts. Should your energizer no longer be in production, scroll down to the bottom of the page and find it in the list of discontinued products and follow the above steps to find the power consumption. If you get a pdf of an image (and you cannot Ctrl+F or equivalent), then use your favorite internet search engine to search for "stax <model name of energizer> pdf", without quotes, to find the product manual. There should be text in the pdf you can use Ctrl+F or equivalent on.

For example, the official product page for the SRM-353X energizer lists its power consumption as 30W. And the new flagship SRM-T8000 hybrid energizer that just came out is specified as consuming up to 95W. If we naively assume that the newest flagship tube energizer from STAX is the most power-hungry model, then take 95W, multiply it by 4, round UP to the nearest transformer model, and call it done. Using this logic, the 500W model should be fine.

Another very important thing to note is that in the official product manuals, it is very likely stated that the energizer is rated to ONLY accept an input of 90~100VAC at 50/60Hz. If you are in the USA and have outlets at 120VAC, then this product will not bring the voltage down far enough into the 90~100VAC range. My outlets are measured with a DMM to be at 123VAC, so this product (rated to bring 115VAC down to 100VAC) will only bring the voltage down to 108VAC, which does not fall into the range of 90~100VAC. This is systematic error that will most likely damage your energizer over time. Follow the product specs to the letter. Don't take risks on an expensive, sensitive ~$1000 amplifier.

**Q: I have a vacuum cleaner that i brought from japan and it says 100v, 1000w,, 50-60hz. will this converter make this vacuum cleaner work in us?**

**Q: Would this transformer work well with japanese dryer (ac100v 50-60hz 1200w)?**
A: The transformer is rated at 2000 watts. Your dryer is rated at 1200 watts. It should work with plenty of capacity to spare , however I'd keep an eye on it to ensure it does not overheat, just because devices like heating units and large motors tend to load up devices like this.

A: "F10AL250V" seem to be fast acting according to specs.  Would slow-blow be better for this application?
