I added a couple teaspoons of olive oil and popcorn kernels and held it over campfire sharking lightly and soon we heard the popping! We ate it right from the popper... Clean up was easy enough and storage is OK, the handle is collapsible but you do have the "pot" to deal with for storage, this is not a major issue for us but it could be if you are trying to keep your gear simple and compact, however I see no reason why the pot could not be used for other cooking task as needed. Each batch turned out perfectly. We found a recipe online that called for 1 cup of popcorn kernels and about 4 tablespoons of oil. I did 5-6 tablespoons and none of the popcorn burned. One suggestion is to go just under 1 cup, as there are many unpopped kernels due to all the space being used with this amount. I'd say 5/6th would be a good amount. All you do is shake it over the fire and in less than 5 minutes, you'll hear it sizzling and popping.
