The level of lead is tiny and in an amount considered safe for food grade. Less than .014 %. **Q: Is this enough to make a small drinking cup?** A: 2 Lbs should be enough to make a small cup **Q: I would be making rings out of this. Is this something I could cut up with a angle grinder and carve with a Dremel?** A: I would use a hand saw. Melting temp on pewter varies but avg's about 400F. A cigarette lighter could essentially melt it. Angle grinder is going to create A LOT of heat. And pewter is pretty dense. So the ingot is likely smaller than you think it is. I would use it for casting instead of carving. Look into Delft Sand molding, Silicone Mode making with Mold Max 60 from Smooth-On and Jewelry wax carving. You'd make a lot more progress and be a lot happier with the result if you cast then finish your pewter rings than carve them from a block of pewter.
