Review: ALMOST an awesome electric kettle - I’ll start with what I really liked: - simple, modern, clean design - heated VERY fast - good weight distribution; easy to pour fast or slow; comfortable handle Here’s what I didn’t love: - yes, it dribbles a few drops of water from the base - no, it didn’t pour water all over the place; anyone who says it did either received a defective unit, removed the plastic piece (that kinda seems like it’s for shipping and should be removed BUT DEFINITELY SHOULD NOT), or most likely, overfilled it - material was thin, would be easy to dent, felt cheaper than it looks (but to be fair it’s pretty light, made of stainless and still inexpensive so what can one expect?) - the screw from the lid to the cork top was tiny and flexed the very thin metal top - the most obvious physical weakness. A wider screw and a metal washer would’ve at least braced the weak point better - overall I didn’t think it would last forever, and eventually the black paint seemed like it might scratch away, but for the price, it seemed pretty good The dealbreaker: - the smell. It came with a not untypical, chemical smell once unboxed. I washed the insides with dish soap and gave it a good rinse. - first use: smelled terrible! Kinda like solvent / glue / plastic / bleach. Smelled inside the hot kettle = more concentrated than the bad smell in my kitchen. - boiled a mild citric acid solution, several times, then washed again. A little better, but not gone. - used for another week; still there, still an off flavor in my drinks - boiled white vinegar, several times, soap and water inside again. Still there. - gave it another week to off-has whatever it was. - not getting any better at this point, after using 3 times a day for 3 weeks. Sending back for a refund. Final take: From reading a bunch of reviews, most people had no problem with any off smells. Mine was pretty intense, something I would imagine most people couldn’t live with. So my guess is that the occasional unit is shipped with this issue. I would’ve just returned for a replacement, and hoped the next one wasn’t smelly. For the money, it works well, looks cool, and heats up super fast. But I found a crazy good price on a much more expensive adjustable temp gooseneck kettle and pulled the trigger on that instead. If you’re still reading this I’d recommend going for it - unless you’re ready to shell out considerably more for something nicer. My $.03
Review: Returned Faulty - Bought this for my wife to use with her V60 coffee filter as it allows for slow precise pouring over the ground coffee. Loved the styling and esthetics of this kettle. It came fitted with a US plug, so I had to spend extra on a US to UK adapter. Sadly after a couple of uses the bottom section of the kettle leaked out producing a pool of water under and around the base it sits on. Slightly worried that it was soaking an electrical connection. I reported the issue and desertcart have provided a return label and will be refunding my desertcart account. Wasn't confident in taking a replacement for this one. Will buy an alternative one with my credit. Now stuck with a US plug adapter that I don't need. Won't be returning it as it's not faulty. Worked just fine with this kettle.

A: I just received this Kettle 11/28/21 and it has the plastic cover on the tube inside. A few reviewers mentioned theirs had a new metal cover though. How can I get the new metal cover? There is no contact info listed here.

A: The grade of the stainless steel in this Gooseneck Kettle is Food Grade 304 18/10.

**Q: I accidentally removed the plastic piece as the manual didn’t say anything about it so I assumed it was part of the packaging. What is it’s purpose?**
A: The plastic piece covers the steam pipe so you don't accidentally pour water down the pipe when you fill the kettle up. It's helpful but not necessary. My refurbished kettle came without the plastic piece (probably because someone took it off by accident and returned it) and it works fine. I just have to be slightly careful when I fill.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Petite but beautiful AND functional

I didn't pay enough attention to the capacity of this kettle so was surprised at how petite it was. Will boil enough for 2 standard cups of tea. Heats quickly, very nicely finished, love the interior water level gauge and the cork handle (and lid knob) comfortable to the touch. Initially resisted purchasing as wasn't confident the cork would hold up in the long run. Still not confident but it's a lovely little kettle and I'm happy enough with it thus far that I could probably rig up replacement knob+handle. I really like this little kettle, it's darling.
