Review: Completed SSD Upgrade to my 2017 Macbook Air with OWC 1TB internal SSD Install - After I realized that my 2017 Macbook Air (Monterey) was no longer supported for the latest updates for Microsoft Office Suites and TurboTax 2024, I bought a 2024 M4 Mac Mini to be able to do my taxes. I then decided that I will not retire my trusty Macbook Air. Instead, I embarked on a mission to upgrade it with a 2TB external SSD and a MacOS update to the Sequoia using the Open Core Legacy Patch (OCLP); with these two successfully updated, I can now focus on replacing the original 500GB SSD internal disc with a 1 TB Samsung 990 EVO Plus. I encountered compatibility issues with it, so I returned and found this 1TB gem by OWC. It didn't require an adapter as did the Samsung SSD and it worked like a champ. The SSD was very competitively priced, installed easily and I was able to refresh my 8 year old Macbook Air (8GB RAM/Intel I7) into something I can use for years to come. It still looks and feels new. It now performs better than ever.
