I will admit I hesitated at the price, because it was more than I wanted to spend, but at the end of the day, I needed something. I was really pleasantly surprised how thick and sturdy these corkboard placements are, they are twice the thickness of the cheap kind you may find in Winners/ Marshalls/ Dollar Store. They have a weight to them that also indicates how well made and durable they are. The design is also more vibrant than in the photos on desertcart. My Italian mother had a fit when she heard how much I spent on these corkboard placements, but when she saw them she agreed it was worth every dollar. We've used these placements daily since I purchased them, and they remain in perfect condition. There is no tearing at the corners, or peeling anywhere, we wipe them down after each meal with a very light damp cloth, and that's it for care and maintenance.
