It will return your hair to its natural color if the artificial hair color applied is darker than your natural level. If you have previously bleached or lightened your hair, ColourB4 is unable to return the (original) natural pigment. If you have applied a very dark or fashion color (such as vibrant red or black) to bleached, porous or grey hair, the cuticle may have been permanently stained. ColourB4 cannot remove cuticle staining. Some clolourants (both permanent and semi-permanent) contain stronger levels of peroxide than others which can lighten your natural hair color. ColourB4 itself contains no peroxide, ammonia or bleaching agents and is not able to lighten the hair. Any lightening or alteration in the hair's depth (after using ColourB4) is due to previous color applications. Not suitable for children under 12. But it took off almost all of my red colored and glazed hair. It also took it off evenly. And I used just the regular box of removal. My hair felt great afterwards. I’m in the business so I did my research and definitely the highest ratings were for B4. And mostly from people in my industry. **Q: So does it lighten black hair??** A: I would do a patch test but it removed a lot of built-up color on my hair that also had tons of glazes on it. It will definitely lift it, but it will probably bring you into the red brown stage.
