## Description

Antiquity Quest Card Game by Grandpa Beck's Games - Set Collection Game from The Creators of Cover Your Assets & Skull King - 2-8 Players 10+ : desertcart.co.uk: PC & Video Games

Review: We love this game - First off Grandpa Beck does quality productions. I have a few of their card games. All good. Cards are linen, art and design lovely. Sturdy small box. Attention to detail, fun theme. All great. This is a simple and charming variant of Hand & Foot, or Canasta or Burraco. Variations of rummyesque set collection games. There's a Basic and Advanced mode of play. We stuck to Basic cos don't want Take That. If your family plays any off those set collection games you'll pick this up in milliseconds and I think you'll enjoy it. I find the theme attractive and pleasant. Nice game. I'm not a fan of the score card, not enough lines to score different sets separately, which would be easier. Minor grumbly. Very happy with my purchase
Review: Complicated - It was so complicated it put us off playing. We tried to play this game on the end of the day to relax and have some fun but you need a lot of energy to learn the rules so we gave up.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Could this be played solo vs some “ai”’deck?**
A: Playing solo wouldnt be possible and playing against an "AI" deck that you controlled would ruin some of the core mechanics of the games.

**Q: how much of this game is just luck of the draw vs actual strategy?**
A: That is hard to answer because yea lick of the draw plays into what you get and are able to play. However, I personally feel strategy plays a bigger part because you need to be able to realize what you should save for and/or what is easier vs harder to save for. You also need to be able to realize that even though you have been working towards a certain collection, you may have to change and go for something else because you aren’t getting what you need or because of what someone else has played. I would say it’s about 30 luck / 70 strategy, but as I said before it is hard to really call that. In the beginning before you really learn good strategies it very well will be luck of the draw that plays into it more I think.

**Q: whats the difference between cover your assets and antiquities?**
A: Cover Your Assets involves making creating stacks of Assets and trying to cover your best stacks to get the most points at the end. Antiquity Quest is a canasta style game and focuses more on curating the most valuable collections you can by avoiding duplicate cards. They play very differently, but both are lots of fun!

**Q: How is the replayability of this one? Do you get a lot of games out of it before it gets stale?**
A: I think it has very good replayabilty

### ⭐⭐⭐ Complicated

It was so complicated it put us off playing. We tried to play this game on the end of the day to relax and have some fun but you need a lot of energy to learn the rules so we gave up.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Genius of a game!
*by K***K on 18 July 2022*

What a game! Plenty of options. Along the lines of Canasta, but much more interesting. The concept of having a cache deck, which you play when you've got rid of all your original deck cards, is genius. I was wanting to play this game straight away after finishing our first game. But would suggest that one round is the best option to play, rather than three, as it can take some time to play out. Highly recommended. 5 out of 5!.
