Oh, just make sure to power down and unplug the UPS - no need to get jolted! The batteries I received actually were the upgraded version of what I purchased. The difference between the Rb1280x2A and RB1280X2B is the cable connector. The RB1280X2A has a male connector and a female connector on the exit. It actually replaces HR1234W that is in CP1500AVR. The RB1280X2B has two recessed female connectors. There is also a RB1280X2 which is just the loose batteries the are in the assemblies listed above. Typically there is less than a 6 month difference between no use, and full use, over the lifetime of such batteries. This is why car batteries are not filled with acid until sold. The acid eats away at the plates at a fairly constant rate. The disolved plate matter condenses at the bottom of the battery, when there is a reservoir. Once the reservoir is filled, the cells short out and become unusable, dead. **Q: The batteries in my cp1500pfclcd are 9ah batteries, the description shows 8ah batteries, can you confirm the capacity of these batteries?** A: You are absolutely correct. I have purchased 5 of the CP1500PFCLCD model UPS over the last 4-5 years, and are beginning to need battery replacements. The two batteries are joined in a unique way, and with a unique recessed connector which makes replacements very specific (unless you want to customize and re-wire the battery connections). It's rather disappointing from CyberPower to cheap out this way. Two 8 amp batteries gives 16 amps vs 18 amps with 9A batteries on the DC side of powering the UPS. Unless you know for sure, you are maxing out 12 .5 amps (1500 watts divided by 120v = 12.5 amps) you'll probably be fine. If you are thinking, my PC has a 1500 watt power supply, so I should get a 1500 watt UPS, it's doubtful your PC is pulling 1500 watts or 12.5 amps continuously. If so, your PC's power supply isn't going to last that long IMHO, and you should be looking at a higher rated UPS. Also, we do not know if the internal circuit design of the UPS is capable of outputting 1500 watts with 8A batteries, if so it would not last quite as long, a few seconds to a few minutes less depending on the load (what you have plugged into it). Overall, a very uneventful replacement, which is exactly what you want! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked perfectly to restore my CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD UPS *by M***H on May 29, 2022* As others have commented my CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD UPS suddenly stopped working, even though the front panel said the battery was okay and fully charged. However it would just shut off if the AC was unplugged, or if a self test was attempted from the PowerPanel app. However it's seven years old, so I figured the batteries needed to be replaced, and this RB1280X2B battery did the trick. I plugged and unplugged the UPS AC numerous times to test it, and the UPS works perfectly again, with no power glitches when switching modes. There is one critical caveat owners of this model need to know - there are actually two incompatible battery types for it. And the only way I could find out what I needed for certain was to chat with CyberPower and give them my UPS serial number so they could look it up and tell me. One last thing, the PowerPanel app is essentially worthless now, at least for this UPS. It can't read the battery charging status any longer, or even the model and serial number. And when I looked in Device Manager I discovered the CyberPower driver is from 2006. So it's best to just uninstall PowerPanel and use the built in Windows 10 battery app. It works fine for basic monitoring and control of this UPS. Note that after uninstalling PowerPanel you also need to uninstall its driver, or the default Windows 10 app can't work. To uninstall the driver open Device Manager, expand the "Batteries" section, right click on the "CyberPower" entry, and then select "Uninstall this device". A confirmation window will pop up, then simply make sure to click the "Uninstall device software" checkbox and then press the uninstall button. After this reboot, and the default Windows 10 battery icon will appear in the Taskbar.
