Review: Old school, robust, excellent value - Reading reviews of these plates on here involving people complaining about the aesthetics of these plates makes me shake my head at how refined and delicate the sensibilities of modern gym culture have become. These plates are, most importantly, accurately weighed. The 20kg plates weight 20kg. The 5kg plates weigh 5kg. The holes in the middle are machined to perfect size. That is ALL THAT MATTERS. Would I recommend them for Olympic weight lifting movements that end with them being dropped from a height? Of course not- bumper plates would be much preferable for those movements. But for deadlift, bench press, squat and any barbell or Olympic dumbbell exercise that relies on controlled time under tension and negative phase contraction, they are perfectly fit for purpose. In fact, because they are smaller in circumference that bumper plates, they will require an extra 1-2 inches of depth in deadlift from the floor, which is no bad thing providing you have the posterior chain integrity to do it (and you really should). Are the 20's and the 5's a different shade of metallic grey? Yes. Do I care? No. Should you care? Honestly, I don't think so. These are great value for a home gym set up, and the built in multi grip design increases their utility, and also makes them fantastic for use with a landmine for Bus Driver's , single arm lever press, prone grip single arm lever rows etc. Spend more for something prettier if you like- it's your money, but I'd sooner buy more of these for the cash, and get stronger, than sit around admiring less weight for it's colour coordination. Review: Great Value! - These were the cheapest Olympic weights I could find online and because of my current financial hardship, I decided to go with these. Given they are the cheapest, I didn't know what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The finishing has a few ever-so-slightly sharp edges where the tri-grips are, but the rest is perfectly fine. The thick paint job looks like they will last a lifetime and they should be protected from any rusting. No worries on that front. You simply won't find better weights for the price. Highly recommended! ## Features - Set of 4 Tri-Grip 2" Olympic Weight Plates in Cast Iron Hammer tone finished 5kg each - total 20kg - 2" (51 mm) designed for use with Olympic barbells and dumbbell bars, and a solid grip for hand and core exercises - Chase Fitness uses only high quality cast iron with the right amount of zinc and manganese, raised numbers incorporated for ease of identification with both KG and LB sizes - Hammered finish painting to prevent rust and corrosion, wipe clean surface, made with environment friendly materials, with no nasty odour smells. - Suitable for commercial and home gym use ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B08Z78HDXW | | Best Sellers Rank | 130,296 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) 136 in Strength training Plates | | Brand | Chase Fitness | | Brand Name | Chase Fitness | | Colour | Grey | | Country of Origin | China | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 51 Reviews | | Item Weight | 5 Kilograms | | Item weight | 5 Kilograms | | Material | Iron | | Number of Items | 4 | | Number of items | 4 | | Unit Count | 4.0 count | | Unit count | 4.0 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Chase Fitness - **Colour:** Grey - **Item weight:** 5 Kilograms - **Material:** Iron - **Number of items:** 4 ## Images ![Chase Fitness 5KG Tri Grip Cast Iron 2" Olympic Weight Plate Discs 1.25-25kg (5kg x 4) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81XXkA4Sq6L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: What colour are the plates?** A: They can vary from a silver to a darker grey depending on the stock we get every couple months but generally they are the same. You will always receive a pair that are the same however. **Q: Will my plates arrive at the same time?** A: If you order plates 15kg and over then they will arrive as 1 plate per box. There will be 2 separate deliveries. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Old school, robust, excellent value *by D***D on 29 March 2022* Reading reviews of these plates on here involving people complaining about the aesthetics of these plates makes me shake my head at how refined and delicate the sensibilities of modern gym culture have become.
