The opening is quite large so putting in the wine and fruit will not be a problem. However, while I don't think large pieces of fruit will be a problem, small bits of pulp might clog the spout. Therefore, I suggest that you strain the sangria before putting it in this container, to remove any pits or pulp that could clog the spout. **Q: Is this a free-flowing spigot or do you have to keep pressing for water to come out?** A: It's free flowing. Just remember to loosen the cover on top so air can get in, otherwise it starts to come out slow. **Q: Can I use this for milk? I don't see why not but has anyone tried it?** A: I make about 1 1/2 gallons of non-fat dry milk at a time and the easiest way to do it is in one of these containers. I use a 2 gallon one and put in half the water, then the milk powder, shake well, then the rest of the water. However, after I make it in this, I put it in pint and half-pint glass bottles. The milk tastes much better from glass, and the bottles are easy to fill using the spigot. Then I run hot water through the container and let it air dry until next time.
