Leave a gap between the steel and the wrap. Use pieces of bubble wrap taped or wrapped around the steel plenum every 2' then simply wrap the whole plenum. Crawlspace are a pain, however so be prepared to work in there. **Q: Can I attach it to a tarp to insulate my attic pull-down stairs? The ladder extends more than 20 inches when closing and opening the door.** A: I guess you could attach this to a tarp using double sided tape. **Q: can I sew a binding on this?** A: Well... Sure, but I'm not sure why you'd want to. It's fairly stiff, not the sort of thing you'd make a blanket out of. OTOH, if you just want to give the edge a nice finish then sure, I guess so.
