The 3M 36106 Perfect-It Gelcoat Medium Cutting Compound + Wax is formulated to remove moderate oxidation, weathering, dulling, and scratches as coarse as P1000 from gelcoat surfaces; leaving a high gloss wax finish. In contrast, the 3M 36110 Perfect-It Gelcoat Light Cutting Polish + Wax is designed to remove light to medium oxidation, swirl marks and scratches of P1500 or finer; leaving a smooth, high gloss wax finish. Work in the shade defiantly. Tried in the sun, was tough to get off but came off. If possible use a buffer/polisher for ease. Pretty simple. I applied another gelcoat wax over.
