Spaces between the Kick Ash Basket rings allow the small particles to fall through when you shake the ashes out. You can start each cook with an ideal fuel load, Whether you're searing steaks or going low & slow. You get easier starts & more even burning. The Kick Ash Basket wire construction also allows much freer airflow than the stock grate. Open up the vents & you can achieve high temperatures faster than you've been able to reach them before. Create perfectly-seared steaks & chops, incredible “brick oven” pizza, & more. Note: you can use the Kick Ash Basket with or without your lower charcoal grate underneath it. If you travel with your grill for tailgating, competition or just showing off for Thanksgiving; it takes a long time for your cooker to cool down & prevents you from loading up the Kamado in your vehicle right away. The Kick Ash Basket lets you lift out the hot remaining charcoal & dispose of it properly. Caution: don't be a dumb ash! Obviously, you need to use some kind of serious heat resistant Gloves. Lifting out the left over hot coals allows your grill to cool down faster than ever before because you can leave the lid open & let it chill. Makes cleaning much easier , plus helps support combustion , as it creates more ventilation spaces. Review: An improvement over the stock parts, easy to use - This basket replaced the original cast iron grate for the big green egg. I've had a big green egg about 15 years, and over the time I've had to replace most of the parts. Thankfully big green egg as an excellent warranty program It's all ceramics have been covered, but a cast iron and steel parts are an out of pocket cost. I found over the years that the cast iron grate specifically would take a lot of abuse, being that it's so close to the flame. I've had no fewer than three of them crack and warp, then rust, and need replacement. This basket has been a perfect replacement. It's very deep and holds a significant amount of charcoal, and it's easily picked up and shaken to remove burnt soot from good charcoal. You will not be disappointed with this basket. ## Features - The original time-saving and temperature-regulating charcoal basket; Kick Ash Basket's stainless steel charcoal basket for Large Big Green Egg grills is the better way to grill; effortlessly shift out excess ash for an easy cleanup and a better quality fire the next time you grill - Provide your coals with the room they need to breath; the best fires are made when coals are not suffocated by leftover ash; the technology used in Kick Ash Basket's original designs ensure your coals are aerated and clear of debris each time you light up to cook; all you have to do is shake that ash - Kick Ash baskets are built differently; all Kick Ash baskets are made with durable electropolished stainless steel; use your basket as much as you'd like to without having to worry about the traditional wear and tear associated with grilling accessories; your basket will continue to kick ash even after heavy, repeated use - Unique, patented design; Kick Ash Basket offers consistent temperature control, giving you a quick and easy grill session every single time; whether you're a casual griller or an award-winning grill master, your cook should go precisely as planned; that's why advanced temperature regulation is key to avoiding burnt or undercooked food - One Large Kick Ash Basket stainless steel charcoal basket for a Large Big Green Egg Grill; measuring 9 inches in diameter at the base, 14 inches in diameter at the top, 4.25 inches deep, and 5.75 inches tall; also fits Grill Dome & Primo Kamado grills; if it's not Kick Ash Basket, it doesn't kick ash ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B079B1W2HN | | Brand | Kick Ash Basket | | Color | Stainless Steel | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (682) | | Date First Available | 10 April 2018 | | Item Weight | 454 g | | Material | Stainless Steel | | Model Number | KAB-LG-SS | | Product Dimensions | 60.96 x 35.56 x 30.48 cm; 453.59 g | ## Images ![Kick Ash Basket Stainless Steel Charcoal Ash Basket, Fits Big Green Egg Grill, Large - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81t4gauSwfL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Should I shake the Kick Ash Basket before every cook?** A: Absolutely!
