These are not cheap flimsy straws, and the diameter is wide enough so you can suck most liquids easily. The diameter is slightly larger than most straws but is not too wide, so it would be comfortable for children and adults. A 10 inch straw is tall enough to use with a 24 ounce smoothie or large bottle of tea or soda. They are straight straws without flex. They come packaged in clear plastic and are not individually wrapped, which is what I prefer. Therefore you don't have to fuss with trying to tear open an individual straw and have more plastic wrapping to dispose of. I try to avoid plastic, but paper straws tend to disintegrate with a warm drink. The only criticism I have is that it would have been more convenient if the seller were to box either all 250 quantity in one or 2 separate boxes. There is a clear sheet of plastic dividing the quantity in half, So I merely divided the quantity and put an elastic band around each portion. The seller shipped them immediately.
